Flirty Fun Desert Engagement Session

October 31, 2019

Katie and Tyler brought the fun to our session out at South Mountain in Phoenix! These two were on from the first minute we stepped out into the desert, and kept the laughs, kisses and joy to the entire session! And as we weaved our way through cacti and patches of sand (Katie rocking high heels the entire time) they didn’t’ complain once, but just skipped along telling me about how they first met at ASU, their first kiss on her 21st, and of course the proposal! You can read all about that below! They were meant to be and balance each other out so well!

It makes me so excited for their big day in the spring! Can’t wait you two! Hugs- Jenn : )

“Tyler and I went ring shopping together at my hometown jeweler and I fell in love with a band and a diamond.  He paid for the ring on the spot and then teased me that because I picked out the ring and knew what it would look like that I would have to wait a while for the actual proposal.  Fast forward four months and it was a normal Friday night in December and we had scheduled a double date with our friends.  We were going to do an escape room and then grab dinner.  Our escape room was themed as a diamond heist, and our goal was to break into a safe and steal a diamond before the time ran out.  One hour later the employees are talking to us through the speakers in the room trying to help us with the last few clues so we can break into the safe.  I hadn’t yet caught on that there was a reason why they were trying to help us complete the room, I just thought they were being nice.  They helped us figure out the last code we needed to open the safe, and my friends told me to open it.  I punched in the code and cracked open the door.  Instead of big, fake diamond, there in the safe was a ring box.  At this point I still did not connect the dots and I said out loud, “Oh! A Borsheims box!”  To my left I hear Tyler say, “Katie.”  I turn around and Tyler is down on his knee as dramatic music played in the background.  All of a sudden I understood and I was so overwhelmed and absolutely shocked that he had pulled this off without me knowing a thing.  As our friends video taped and took pictures, I handed Tyler the ring box so he could open it for me and put the ring on my finger.  He asked me marry him and all I could reply was, “Is this real life?”  I was so incredibly surprised and so ecstatic.  It was such special and unique proposal and made for such a great story because we didn’t actually escape the room.” – Katie

“I love the fact that we are so different. She plans and I help her live in the moment. I slack off and she keeps me focused. I am loud and she reminds me I don’t know how to whisper. We work really well as a unit because we balance each other so well. We have a great relationship and it has only become better with time. At almost four years we both know how each other eats, dances, and procrastinates. Knowing someone so well is a joy I really appreciate”- Tyler

Love is a many-splendered thing. I love that this love began with friendship! Having been married quite awhile(!) that marriage is built on friendship, companionship and completeness. Two becoming one while still not standing in each other’s shadow … that’s love for all time.
