May 8, 2019

We had the loveliest time with Katie and Neil out at their engagement session in April! The weather was great and these two had a whole pose of people there with them cheering them on and making the whole session so fun! It was so cute to see how in love Neil and Katie are and it makes us so excited for their big I do at Villa Siena next May! It is going to be an amazing day and we cannot wait for it! Hugs Neil and Katie and we will see you soon! – Dusty, Jenn and the Studio girls

“So our proposal story…..   It was December 27, 2018. We were visiting my family in Wisconsin for the holidays (I am from Wisconsin and I went to Wisconsin for college – that is where Neil and I first met as well; we moved to Arizona because Neil got a job working for the Arizona Diamondbacks. We were only dating 4 months, but I thought I’d take a chance at love. If it didn’t work out, at least I didn’t have a family (i.e. kids) and I could move back to the Midwest if I wanted to).  Anyways, we went to Madison (where the university is located) to watch the Wisconsin Badgers play in their bowl game with a few friends. We got there a little early, so Neil asked me if I wanted to go for a walk around campus. We walked to my favorite place on campus – the terrace. In the summer, it’s a great place to have a beer, watch the boats sail, or even swim! It was rainy that day and cold (as it was December), so we were the only ones there. When we got closer to the lake, Neil turned around and said something along the lines of “I took you to your favorite place on campus because you’re my favorite person and I want to spend the rest of my life with you”….he may have said something else too, but I don’t remember 100% because I was so surprised J. It was perfect because it was just us two and we had a little time to celebrate alone. After that, we celebrated with friends and family! I attached a photo of the selfie we took with Bucky – Wisconsin’s mascot!” – Katie

“The first time we said i love you, we were on her couch in her apartment in Madison, Wisconsin. It was one of those nights that she was drinking Wine and I was drinking Whiskey. We were only a few months into our relationship which is crazy to think. I knew she would be the girl that I would marry someday. Shortly after I told her that I loved her, I received a full time job opportunity in Arizona. I had met Katie in Wisconsin while doing an internship, and somehow convinced her (sarcasm) during the winter time to move to Arizona :D.” – Neil

“I think what makes our relationship work so well is that we have similar life goals. We both are career driven, love to work out, want more Labradors, and eventually we’d like to raise a family together. We both know what we want out of life, what are goals are, what we to accomplish in life, and are firmly committed to achieving it together.” – Neil

“I’m not sure when the exact moment was that I fell in love with Neil. However, I can tell you why I am in love with him. Neil is always so supportive of any crazy goal that I set for myself. I tend to very ambitious at time and set large goals for myself. Neil is always there to help cheer me on along the way and even join in on the goal if it means helping me stick to it!  Also, Neil always makes me laugh! He knows just what to say or when to strike a silly dance move to make me laugh! I also love how he takes care of me – whether it be folding my laundry for me (he works from home so he has more time to do house duties than I do!), making dinner, etc. I also love the sweet notes that he leaves me when I leave for a work trip  or when he knows I’m going to have a long/stressful day at the office. ” – Katie

“When the proposal happened, I was surprised. I knew he was going to propose sometime…he kept saying spring 2020, so I definitely didn’t expect it to happen then! I didn’t go ring shopping but I did send my BFF Missi (and Maid of Honor) tons of pinterest photos of what I liked” – Katie

“Our first kiss was….. after one of our first dates at Buffalo Wild Wings. I have a wing obsession – I love eating buffalo wings; so of course I made  him take me there J We are obviously having chicken wings as our late night snack at our wedding! ” – Katie

“My favorite thing about my  fiance is without a doubt her drive. She’s the most passionate person I’ve ever met. She works so hard to be good at what she does. It doesn’t matter what it is, once she sets her mind on it she goes after it. Her drive motivates me to be the best person I can be.” – Neil

The sweet pose that tagged along and made everything so much more fun! yay for family support!
