Sedona Engagement with Associate Kayla

October 18, 2017

One of the things we love about engagement sessions, is that they give our couples a chance to ‘warm up’ in front of the camera! Think about it! When was the last time you were photographed professionally… and as a couple? Ever?

Most people haven’t, and so just like anything we want to be GOOD at, we need to practice! That’s part of the fun for us as photographers, is to watch the comfort level from the very beginning of the session, and then see how it progresses to pure amazingness by the end!

I loved editing these photos of Nikki and Andrew at their engagement session in Sedona with Kayla! You could just see the love between them from the get go, and as the session progressed, it just got better and better and then ended with some of my favorite images of them at the Red Rocks! They are just perfect! Plus the fact that Sedona is where Andrew proposed, made this setting and place so much more special to both of them!

Andrew and Nikki, the way you two light  up when you looked at each other was just the cutest and we cannot wait to see how amazing their wedding day is in the fall with Kayla at Eagle Mountain! We are so excited for you guys! Thank you for letting us capture this incredible time in your life!

“I can’t recall the exact moment that I knew that I was in love with Andrew, but I have always known that there was something special about him. From the very beginning of our relationship, everything just felt “right” and that wasn’t something that I had ever experienced before. To be honest, I worried that I would not meet the person that would want to spend the rest of my life with, but that all changed when he came into my life. He is one of the most caring, dedicated, fun-loving people I have ever met, and I instantly knew that this was someone that I wanted to be with. He is incredibly supportive and he will do anything in his power to put a smile on my face. I have loved every day that I have spent with him, and I am beyond grateful to be able to spend my future with him as well.” – Nikki

“After months of talking about taking a day trip to Sedona to go hiking, we picked a date and Andrew planned the details of our day. All I knew was that we were going to go to a new hiking spot and then were going to go to dinner before heading back down to Scottsdale. Although getting married was something that we had openly discussed, Andrew wasn’t acting overly nervous or suspicious that morning so I wasn’t expecting anything other than a nice day. When we arrived at the trail in Sedona, we spent some time walking and then Andrew guided us up to a summit. While we sat there and enjoyed the beautiful views, we were joined by other tourists on the very confined area. Andrew later told me that his original plan was to propose there, but once we were up there with the distraction of the other people, he knew that he wanted to do something more special. He suggested that we go to Devil’s Bridge for another hike. I had always wanted to experience it and happily agreed. After a few miles on the trail, we finally reached the bridge. Neither of us is particularly fond of heights, so I asked that we sit and watch others walk out onto Devil’s Bridge before we attempted it. We finally mustered up the courage and stood in line for our turn to walk out. Andrew held my hand as we made our way to the middle and then he stopped, dropped down on one knee, and reached into his pocket. As he pulled out the beautiful ring, I instantly started shaking and crying. Although I don’t remember a lot of the details due to the shock and excitement of the moment, I definitely know that I said yes! This was a moment that I had looked forward to for so long, and I could not have imagined it in a more perfect way. “ – Nikki

“I don’t have a specific moment of the first time we said I love you, sorry. I don’t say it as often as i should, but usually when going to bed after a long weekend or at the start of a busy week for us.” – Andrew

“Her actions and lovable personality are a constant reminder that, no matter how bad my day or mood is, I have it pretty, great especially with my partner in crime. She listens well and has great perspective when providing solutions for us.” – Andrew
