Chase and Jenna: Engagement Session

October 10, 2017

Fall in the desert here looks a little different than it does in other states! Instead of oranges and reds, our desert colors seem to have a second “spring” with tons of green and vibrant flowers! Jenna and Chase decided to capitalize on all this beauty and have their engagement session at the Desert Botanical gardens, which is the perfect place to showcase all the desert has to offer in our fall months! Jenn and Chase met at a small country concert, got a drink and the rest is history in the making! We cannot wait for your amazing Villa Siena Wedding in the Spring with Shannon! It is going to be absolutely beautiful and the chemistry you two have together is off the charts! Congrats again and we’ll see you guys soon!

“Chase and I dated for about five months before having the conversation about being “boyfriend/girlfriend’. It took me awhile to let my guard down, to open up, to trust, to be vulnerable. The past hasn’t always been good to me and I struggled with trusting that this could be the real deal. Chase never waivered during this (what some would consider to be a) long courtship. He would be consistent with his calls, texts, and made plans regularity. He introduced me to his friends and brought me to weddings. He showed up on time, opened my doors, was complimentary. He remained true to who he said he was and didn’t show me through words but through actions that he truly was interested and had no intention of hurting me or leaving. Time and time again, he remained the wonderful man that he is even though my moments of uncertainty, moments of adversity, and through our adventures. I remember growing more and more in like with him, one moment in particular I can remember. We were at dinner in Nashville before a night out with friends when we had “the talk” about being bf/gf. It was short, uncomplicated and when we both agreed to now officially use that label he said, “Good, because I already tell everyone you’re my girlfriend.” It wasn’t an exact day, an exact task, an exact moment in which I knew I was in love. It wasn’t about the events or the intensity. It was the accumulation of all the little things, that one day I woke up as if I pressed a button and said “I love him.” It was the consistency over time with he and I that lead me to loving him and knowing that this is the man I would marry.”- Jenna

“Our first kiss! Disclaimer: *I actually had to ask Chase about this!* On our second date, we decided to go watch a football game and after, ride our beach cruisers around to some other locations. After leaving the first restaurant (OHSO), we were unlocking our bikes and he leaned in for the first kiss! And many more after that :)” – Jenna  “Chase proposed in Sedona, AZ on May 27, 2017. I had no idea it was going to happen. We decided to spend a weekend in Sedona to celebrate the ending of my school year (I’m a Speech Pathologist in the school setting) and kick off the summer. We made plans for dinners, hikes and shopping around. Our hike on Saturday morning was Huckaby Trail, an in and out type hike. It was a warm but nice morning and the trail eventually lead down to a stream. He suggested we sit down near the water and enjoy the surroundings. Within minutes of sitting there he began to have a more intense conversation with me about our relationship, the weekend plans, and all of a sudden got down on one knee, pulled a ring from his pocket (just the ring! no case, no bag, just this shiny, beautiful ring) and asked me to marry him. I remember my head was spinning when I realized what was happing, I remained calm and tried to be as present as I could in the moment and of course, said YES! I was in total shock and speechless for a bit (which if you know me, is highly unusual). The ring was stunning. I had no part in any of it and was rather impressed he picked out this perfect ring all by himself. Many people have commented that my ring “Is very Jenna”. He knows me well and did an amazing job. He went and picked it out by himself but with the support of a close friend. After the engagement, it was the most magical time to bask in engagement bliss, call our family, take a few pictures and discuss all the details of his ring planning, asking my parents, etc. It was a moment I want to re-live! and one we will never forget.”- Jenna  “I definitely said it first. I think Jenna probably knew she loved me first, but I was the one that had to say it out loud. We were at home discussing how our relationship had been such a great surprise in both of our lives and we were so thankful to be growing together as a couple and that’s when I said it. She quickly said she had loved me back and explained to me that she had loved me for a while:) Looking back on it, a part of me wishes I would have done it in a more romantic way, but it was real and I think we could both agree that’s what really matters.”-Chase

“You know it’s funny. When I read this question about my favorite thing about Jenna, I thought it would simply come to me, but I actually had to think about it. Once I did however, the list had grown so long I had a hard time picking my favorite. Besides the obvious, her stunning beauty, sweet perfect smile, independence and her natural way with children, the thing that sticks out the most to me is her thoughtfulness. From the simple things; thank you cards, phone calls to grandparents, a welcome note on the night stand, preparing for a party, prepping for therapy, gifts to friends, planning for a night out, Jenna makes those around her not only feel welcome, but special. I’ll never forget my 31st Birthday. Birthday’s have never been a huge deal in my family. Of course there were gifts and maybe a cake, but for the most part it was another day. Jenna and I had been together for about a year when she planned for my 31st (no one cares about 31). Jenna had activities for 3 entire days planned. She set up the perfect dinner at now one of my favorite restaurants, decorated the house, took me to a favorite artists concert, grilled out and watched the ASU game, went to Top Golf with friends and made me feel like September 6th was the most special day of the year. “- Chase
