Stunning Sunset Wedding at Sanctuary Resort

April 11, 2019

It was the most serene and beautiful sunset photos time on a wedding day I have ever been a part of. Everything was just perfect as Cailtin and Andru strolled along with Camelback mountain in the distance. Caitlin’s veil slowly blowing in the wind and Andru looking at her liked he’d just won the lottery. ( cause come on he kind of did! lol)
Leading up to this incredible sunset, Andru and Caitlin had just the most perfect day! A bridal party that was on their A game taking care of the lucky bride and groom, the dress fit perfectly as Caitlin slipped it on with her girls all oohing and ahhing, and then spritzing her with perfume and sliding her bridal shoes on. Andru joked around with his guys that morning as they suited up and tied their ties. Andru smiled nervously as we set him for his first look with Caitlin, and as she spun around he had the biggest smile on his face before pulling her in for a kiss! We had a whole entourage of people there to make everything pristine, including the most on top of it glam squad for hair and makeup and video capturing it all! IT was such a fun afternoon capturing these two getting all dolled up for each other!
Their guests enjoyed the most spectacular views during cocktail hour as we whisked Andru and Caitlin up the mountain on golf carts! We hit this point and I was like ” STOP!” it was too perfect a view so we pulled over! We spent 20 minutes letting them soak in their one and only sunset on their wedding day, overlooking all of Scottsdale as they snuck kisses under her veil. There is just something about being up over the city, away from the hustle of the streets and city traffic, that made this sunset together with them so serene and perfect! They joined their guests after that for the most fun reception of dancing, delish food and great toasts by family and friends.
Let’s go back and do it all over again you guys!! Caitlin and Andru your wedding day will always stick out in my mind as such a calm and gorgeous day! I am so thankful we got to be there to capture your becoming man and wife and I wish you guys all the best as you journey together as a married couple.
Here’s to much love and many more perfect sunsets together. : )

“Ben and Rick are 2 of my best friends from high school, and I still keep in touch with both of them despite living in different cities. Whether it’s competing in fantasy football, sharing memes in a group chat, or just texting each other, we always stay updated on each other’s lives. Beau is my brother and Jason is Caitlin’s brother. As Beau said during his toast at the rehearsal dinner, the Roysden’s are an unusually close family. I’ve enjoyed hanging out with Jason and especially the trips we’ve taken together, and look forward to hanging out more in the future. Hopefully visiting him and his girlfriend Brittany in Florida soon.”-Andru

“The best part of the day, for me was during the first look. I loved seeing Andru for the first time that day. I was so anxious and nervous that day, but after the first look, seeing Andru made me feel so calm. I was very excited to marry my best friend.”-Caitlin

“Every detail was perfect. She’s gorgeous on a non-wedding day, but she found a way to look even more beautiful than normal. And I could tell she was feeling great too because she couldn’t stop smiling.”-Andru

“All 3 toasts were great. Caitlin’s dad, my groomsman Ben, and Caitlin’s Matron of Honor Stephanie all did a great job. Every speech roasted us just a bit, but had a ton of heartfelt compliments as well. Which was perfect, it made their speeches feel genuine.”-Andru “During our ceremony, our ring bearer, Nathan, was very excited to have gummy snacks as his prize for walking down the aisle. He kept saying, “gummies…..gummies…gummies” while eating his snack.  It was so cute Andru and I both looked at each other and mouthed that we wanted gummies too. It was an unexpected, very sweet moment that made us laugh while standing with the minister.”-Caitlin   “I choose the Sanctuary Resort based on the reviews for it’s food and the amazing view of the city. It’s also in the neighborhood where Andru grew up. He used to hike Camelback mountain a lot as a kid and still does every time he visits Phoenix.”-Caitlin  “The general advice would be to do anything you can to give yourself more flexibility and freedom the week of your wedding. For us, the best example of this was hosting our rehersal dinner and farwell brunch at an AirBnB cloe to the wedding venue. It made everything easier since it allowed for a flexible timeline. It also allowed our guests to mingle with a wide variety of people, not just those they were seated next to during the actual dinner. Both events ended going on for 5-6 hours because everyone had a great time. Most of our wedding party and some out of town friends also stayed at the air bnb so it served multiple purposes.”-Caitlin  “I enjoyed going around to each table during dinner. I got to see a lot of friends that I haven’t seen in months, or in some cases, years. While I keep in touch with them over social media, it was a whole different feeling seeing them in person.”-Andru
