Dreamy Engagement Session at Desert Botanical Garden

April 25, 2019

It was a beautiful evening as Callie, Phil and I strolled through the botanical gardens together in Scottsdale. They walked hand in hand as we chatted about their adorable proposal story and how Phil even asked her dad for her hand! ( so sweet!) Capturing their love was so easy as they were both so laid back and laughed together naturally as we walked and snapped. Phil would get the biggest smile when he looked at Callie and I know come wedding day the love and adoration will be ten fold between these two and it makes me so excited! Phil and Callie thank you for letting me capture this sweet moment in your journey to marriage! I cannot wait for your big day! Hugs from Az to Las Vegas! – Jenn

“Our engagement story couldn’t be more perfectly us. I’m a huge Washington State football fan. GO COUGS! Phil would always laugh when I woke up early on Saturdays to turn on ESPN. All just to make sure the Coug Flag was flying on Game Day. Then promptly turn it off and go back to sleep 🙂  So, the Cougars were killing it this year, and when ESPN announced they would finally be headed to Pullman (after 15 years long years of waiting for a visit), I quickly started scheming on how they were going to get there. We flew from Las Vegas to Boise, and then Phil drove through the night (while I of course slept) to get to Pullman by 6am.

Unknown to me, Phil had also started to plan on how to propose; knowing that was this was his perfect opportunity. He already had the ring, and had asked my Dad for permission. Such a gentleman!! J

So with no makeup on, and freezing temperatures, we stood in the crowd with so much excitement!! Once in the crowd Phil quickly found the perfect spot next to the band, and when they started playing, he pulled me around and got down on one knee. Cue the ugly cry here.

Funny thing is the band was so loud, and there were so many people around cheering for us, I just saw the ring and started crying. I put it on and was so happy. We started to walk away so we could talk and I asked Phil “did you actually ask me, because I couldn’t hear, and I never said yes”, so then 5 minutes later, he asked and then I finally said yes.”- Callie

“My favorite thing about my fiance is that she is always happy and cheerful (unless the Cougs are loosing, ha). She is an amazing cook, and feeds me the best grilled lemon chicken I’ve ever had in my life. She is an amazing travel partner, and looks so cute in a backpack jumping around with excitement for a new adventure we are about to go on. “-Phil

“I think what makes our relationship work so well is….
In a world of crazy stupid havoc, she brings balance to the force (Star Wars reference here if you didn’t know, ha). She is easy to be around and makes like so fun. “-Phil

“Our first kiss was on our first date!! He took me out to Thai food (which is now our favorite take-out), and he persuaded me to go hang out back at his apartment to watch a movie. I was getting ready to leave that night, and he was a gentleman and asked if he could kiss me first. It was really sweet.”- Callie

“The first time we said I love you we were….  laying in bed….We both knew it was coming and that we were ready to say it…. I whispered olive juice super super quiet in her ear, so she said “I love you too”, but really I just made her say it first. We always joke about it now, but I said it right back. “-Phil
“I first knew I was in love with him on our first overnight vacation together. It was about 5 months after we started dating, and we went to San Francisco for a long weekend. We went about 45 minutes outside the city to meet my Grandparents and extended family, and then spent the weekend in the city with a friend from college and went to a Giants baseball game. Everything was just perfect. No stress, everything was easy and so much fun. We definitely traveled well together. I knew on that trip I wanted to spend the rest of my life exploring and experiencing new things with him.” – Callie
Can’t wait to see you guys again for your wedding! Hugs from AZ! – Jenn
