Romantic Secret Garden Wedding

November 16, 2018

The day started out beautiful with big puffy clouds in the sky and a temperature in the mid-80’s! In Arizona, that is a perfect day, and the Secret Garden Event Center looked amazing! From the gorgeous florals to the perfect shade of sangria everything looked amazing but nothing was more beautiful then Kaitlin in her stunning wedding dress! From the moment she slipped it on she was glowing and both her mom and new mother in law could not stop smiling!
All her girls came in as she twirled around with laughter and smiles. Nothing is better than having your best friends surround you as you get ready to marry the man of your dreams, and Kaitlin for sure had some of the best!
Austin was the first to arrive and I have to say he was the calmest most laid back groom. From the moment I saw him I could tell he was ready to marry Kaitlin and was so excited for the day! He waited to get his first glimpse of her at the entrance of the venue and as she walked up from behind him he began to smile! He knew she was there and I can only imagine the excitement he felt as he turned to see her. Both of them immediately hugged one another and soaked in the moment.
I could tell instantly how caring and compassionate both Kaitlin and Austin were from the moment I met them. Their love for each other, their family and friends was constantly shown throughout the day! From thoughtful gifts, special dances, roses given and tears of joy expressed, there was so much love!
One special moment that stands out to me was when Kaitlin’s dad came to see her in her dress! Being that Kaitlin is an only child and daddy’s little girl at that, I was choking back tears as he embraced her with tears in his eyes! It was a special moment I feel so honored to have captured!
The ceremony was simple and sweet and I loved that both Kaitlin and Austin wrote their own vows! There is something so intimate about hearing two souls speak of their love for one another.
The reception was outdoors on the patio and was adorned with twinkle lights and lanterns. The food was incredible and the dance crowd was awesome. It was an absolutely fabulous day of memories made and Kayla and I couldn’t have been more blessed to be a part of it all! – Dusty, Kayla

“One unique thing that happened that made the day even better was after our first look. As we were taking some portraits, we started to hear cheering and yelling. We looked over to see all of the groomsmen crammed into one window frame of the grooms room cheering. At that same moment, the bridesmaids had come out from the bridal suite and were peeking at us from the balcony above. It was totally unplanned but so awesome having all of our closest friends around us with so much excitement for our marriage! ”- Kaitlin

“I would have to say that there were two times during our wedding day that were my favorite. The first would honestly have to be our first look. It was just such a special moment together when we first saw each other that day and got to take some time to soak it all in. There’s so much going on all day, and to have time alone and slow down a little was just so nice. My other favorite time of the day was the ceremony and getting to stand up there in front of so many family and friends and recite our vows to each other. There was just so much love in that moment, it was incredible. ”- Kaitlin

“I loved everything about her. Her dress (that I wasn’t allowed to see leading up) was gorgeous and she was absolutely glowing in it. I was in absolute awe during our first look and then watching her come down the aisle.”- Austin

“Austin and I are both very outdoorsy people, and we wanted a wedding venue that was very romantic and could incorporate the outdoors and greenery as much as possible. We looked at probably 10 venues before touring the Secret Garden, and we loved things about each one. But there was always one part that wasn’t quite what we were looking for. When we visited the Secret Garden, we both walked away with the feeling that we could picture ourselves getting married there, it just felt right so we went with that feeling! As far as a lot of the decor went, Pinterest was my main inspiration. I found so many great ideas there and fell in love with romantic blushes and sangria colors paired with greenery for that garden-y look. For our floral, I wanted roses mixed with a variety of other flowers for a more natural style and to incorporate some cream colors as well. The inspiration for many of our other details again came from Pinterest! We found an ornate mirror that went along with the romantic garden style to use as our welcome sign and also brought in some woodsy touches with a few wood signs and table numbers that I made. ”- Kaitlin

“Our bridal party consists of friends since we were kids, friends from college, and neighbors. They’re couples we go on date nights with, adventure buddies, and festival families. Even though some of them are out of state now, it makes seeing them that more special. Everyone tries to reach out to each other when planning vacations to get as many friends together as possible. Whether its camping, music festivals, Mexico, Vegas, or beaches, we always get as many friends together as we can.”- Austin

“I would go back to about 15 minutes before the ceremony. I would have thought this would be the most stressful/nervous part of the whole wedding but it was just perfect. Leading up to the ceremony I was more excited and happy than I had ever been in my life. I kept thinking that those feelings would fade or diminish but they didn’t.”- Austin

“Walking up to the front of everyone and turning around to see all of the people who are there to witness one of the most important events in our life together. Watching Kaitlin come down the aisle to marry me was breathtaking but it was seeing everyone there for us that really built up the moment for me.”- Austin

“Some advice I would offer to anyone getting married… is when it comes to planning, do it early and do it often so that it makes bigger decisions easier to tackle and spreads out a little of the stress. Also, get as much done ahead of time as possible because even though it might not seem like it, you will get very busy in the days right before your big day and on the day of!”- Kaitlin
