Now don’t get me wrong, I love all the magic of all the weddings, but walking into Villa Siena on November 10th there was just something special in the air! Maybe its because it was just a bit cooler than it had been all October, so this *felt* like the first true fall wedding… but really I think it was something more. Ever since I met Amy and Mat and her parents at Starbucks a year ago, we just clicked! We all hit it off from the get go and its been a fun relationship planning out their timeline, and taking their engagement photos at Papago. Check it out here!
Amy is my type of bride, organized knows what she wants and a go getter! Matt was just the sweetest and made us both laugh a ton at the engagement session with his incredible poses and super suave confidence. Amy and Matt are just my kinda people! So walking in to their wedding day I had a little extra pep in my step. Plus I just always love when I know people at the wedding, and my cousin and his sweet wife Katie were going to be there along with some friends from high school! So its always such a blast getting to watch people you love get to dance the night away! With that extra pep, Amy arrived to the venue with her entourage of girls and the day began and it was all smiles and joy from then on! They laughed their way through getting her into her dress (just wait until you see the toe socks this girl brought, we were all dying laughing!)
Matt got ready with his guys and then hopped outside with his back to his bride, for their first look together! In the background I could see Amy tearing up and it was just the sweetest thing! Matt turned around to see his bride and the smiles on their faces were just contagious! Like how do you not smile getting to see their expressions! Behind the scenes at such a sweet moment, I have the best job ever! They embraced and hugged and it was just my favorite moment of the day as i know it must have been one of their favorite moments as well!
The day only got better with the most beautiful and personal ceremony in front of tons of family and friends, and then a reception with the most *lively* group of dancers I’ve ever seen! There wasn’t a spare inch everyone was in there having the best time dancing with the bride and groom! Because of the setup, guests were able to flow from inside to outside with ease and enjoy not only the lively dancing but a breathtaking setting under twinkle lights, with the trickle of a fountain and fresh flowers dotting the entire scene. It was like a fairy tale and watching them I could see they were enjoying every moment of their once in a lifetime day.
Amy and Matt! Thank you for being such a great couple and for allowing me a backstage pass to this day of your life! It was truly incredible and I am so excited for you guys to relive your perfect day over and over again through your photos. Much love, Jenn and the Studio Girls
From start to end this day was just perfection.
“Oh my gosh, it has to be the toe socks!! Who would have thought they would cause such a commotion! I had been breaking in my shoes for a few weeks before the wedding and could tell they were going to rub blisters on my toes. Being the planner I am, I found these little covers you can slip on to prevent blisters. My bridesmaids couldn’t believe it! And Jenn captured a video of me, all dressed up for my wedding, dying laughing about the toe socks. Such a fun memory! “-Amy
“Without a doubt, the first look. I had been so excited to have that special moment between the 2 of us since we decided to do it. I was not expecting to be so emotional and nervous though. Getting to walk up to Matt once once my dress and all my details came together was such an amazing moment. He looked so handsome smiling back at me. It felt like the first moment of my life.”-Amy
“Everything! I know she worked hard on all the details, and they came together great… her hair, her veil (or what i thought was her cape), her beautiful smile as she walked up to me during our first look. But if i had to pick just one thing, it would be her dress. She wanted it to be perfect and it turned out perfect! “-Matt
“Five of my groomsmen were brothers before the wedding; two more became brothers after. To me it’s all about family, so I couldn’t ask for a better group to share my most important day with. Amy’s bridesmaids were a mixture of family and friends. Amy had a looot of friends, but she wanted to have one from each significant period of her life stand up next to us. We had a bridal party of 14 of our favorite people. “-Matt
“Watching Amy walk down the aisle was my favorite part of the whole day. I wish I could relive that moment over and over because when you think wedding day, you think about your bride walking down the aisle! “-Matt
“Definitely when Amy slipped on my ring after saying her vows, the symbol that i was now her husband…finally!! Our vows were special to us along with most of the wedding ceremony script as we wrote almost all of it ourselves”-Matt
“We looked at a few venues before Villa Siena that were nice, but as soon as we pulled up to Villa Siena Matt said “Ooooh yeah, this is the place.” He loved all the greenery. I loved how happy it made him so it made our decision super easy. The venue was so great to work with which made it even better!!
“I am a detail oriented girl, so I knew if I really dove into all the wedding details I would end up driving myself, and my fiancé, absolutely nuts!! So during the entire planning process I would remind myself periodically “it’s about my marriage to Matthew, our love, and starting our new life together” not about whether or not we have colored linens, or if that second cousin once removed didn’t make the final guest list. It really helped! I even used it on Matthew and my mom a few times. So i guess my advice would be, focus on the end goal…the marriage. The details will all fall into place, and honestly, you don’t even notice 75% of them anyways! What you do remember is the look on your groom’s face when he sees you for the first time on the best day of your lives!! “-Amy
